The Sixth Workshop on Ring Imaging Cherenkov detectors (RICH2007)

LAST BULLETIN

Some important information for the participants to RICH2007 follows.

All the speakers and poster presenters are kindly required to take note of the instructions to upload their scientific material and to follow them. Thank you.

On Monday October 15, 2007 afternoon, a dedicated bus shuttle from the Trieste airport to Trieste downtown will be available for the participants to RICH2007. To optimize the bus schedule, we need your input, which is missing for the large majority of the participants. Please, enter the registration page and fill in the relevant fields not later than October 8, 2007. By October 11, 2007 the shuttle bus schedule will be available in the Workshop web site.

Lunches will be available at the Workshop site on October 16, 17, 18 and 19, 2007. Having lunches together will be a nice opportunity to take advantage of the lunch break for informal exchange of information, creating the typical atmosphere that had made the workshops of this series so effective. The cost is 20 € per lunch and tickets will be distributed at the registration desk. Several participants have already booked their lunches via the registration page. The others, who would like to have lunches at the Stazione Marittima, are kindly required to book them in advance by the registration page.

On Thursday October 18, first part of the afternoon, we propose you two short excursions, in alternative and you are kindly required to choose one of them. You can either visit Grotta Gigante (namely Giant Cave), a large typical cave of the Karst surrounding Trieste. This trip would be the best complement of the introductory lecture to Karst phenomena that will be given on Tuesday afternoon. The visit to the cave includes a descent of about 120 m to the cave bottom, following a touristic path with steps. If you prefer a more relaxing trip, you can visit Miramare Castle and Park. The castle has been built between 1856 and 1860 on a beautiful promontory in the Grignano bay to become the residence of Archduke Maximilian of Austria, the Emperor of Mexico. More information concerning the targets of the two visits can be found in the RICH2007 web page. Please, enter the registration page and fill in the relevant fields not later than October 8, 2007.

Accompaning persons not yet registered, have to be registered at your earliest convenience and, in any case, at latest upon your arrival.
